Hi!!! I'm Melissa and I'm running to be the UCS President!!!
As UCS President, I promise to prioritize the health and happiness of each individual on this campus by working towards feasible but influential goals that are always grounded in and accurately reflect the concerns of the student body.
I have always said that my favorite thing at Brown and what has taught me the most in my time here is the people at Brown. This is entirely because of how uniquely passionate each Brown student I meet is and all that I've learned through the amazing work I've seen them accomplish. Individual students have always been the catalyst for positive change on this campus and this serves as the inspiration for my platform.
I am running for UCS President to provide support systems, greater resources, and accessibility to administrators for every student on Brown’s Campus. I want to build community through supporting and elevating the amazing work that students are already doing on campus. Having worked as the Chair of Campus Life, I have been involved with the facets of day-to-day living and seen the incredible work that passionate individuals can accomplish. I hope to use my position to elevate the work that students have accomplished and be a sounding board for historically underrepresented groups and voices that often go unheard. Rather than attempt to represent entire communities and create projects that are based in the interests of a select few, I want to bring those voices directly to the administrative table and to work on initiatives to promote community collaboration and institutional support.
